Excerpt from Cali’s journal:
Brrr… the 15-year winter is almost upon us. The first of the snows have started, the winds blowing cold and cutting down the mountains. I awoke to frost on the windows and a chill the hearth fire can’t fully chase away. I brought everyone to winter over here, it’s the only way I can keep them safe… and I have to keep them safe, it’s my responsibility. Unwanted or not. We are ready to face the winter, provisions and people alike, we are ready. I only hope the winter is all we are facing.
